As part of the 2019 New Zealand Institute of Architects Festival of Architecture, Architecture New Zealand and ArchitectureNow present the inaugural Model Citizens Competition: where teams of three to five people will create models out of Lego bricks. Teams will be supplied with an equal amount of Lego bricks, given a design brief and have a limited time to complete their models during this one-night event. Does your team have what it takes?

Only one team representing each practice or university can be entered, and the winning team will take home a trophy (plus ultimate bragging rights). Spaces are limited and registering your team does not guarantee a spot, so get your entry forms in early. Teams will be confirmed in early September when the entry fee will be collected. Entries cost $500 per team, and proceeds from the event will go towards purchasing Lego sets for schools in need to encourage the next generation of creative thinkers.

The event will take place on Wednesday 25 September 2019 from 6-9pm at the IMO showroom in Parnell, Auckland, with food and drinks provided by Fisher & Paykel and event support from Resene.
