This walking tour travels along Buckingham Street, taking in the buildings on this historic street, some of them heritage buildings which have been restored, and others which have been created as replicas of original structures.
On the tour, we’ll discuss the original character of the street, its development and survival through some lean decades, and its emergence as a very successful exemplar of heritage preservation.
Building conservation and preservation techniques will be also be discussed, along with the reasons why the street works as an historic precinct in a fast-growing town.
