The Pacific region is rapidly developing; climate change, rising sea levels, natural disasters, and large influence of foreign aid are some of the few forces shaping the built environment. MAU Studio is an interdisciplinary practice using vernacular influence, education, and community development as a tool to regenerate the Pacific built environment to enhance the well-being of it’s people, and environment.

Tuputau Lelaulu, Innovation Director at MAU Studio, will present their project – “Maota o Tina – Poutasi Women’s Community Centre”. The project speaks to how the practice is facing the challenges, and complementing existing village initiatives and infrastructure.
